"Casale Angelini": renewed memorandum of understanding for the management of the care house

Angelini Foundation alongside Azienda Ospedaliero Universitaria delle Marche, Regione Marche, Comune di Ancona and Università Politecnica delle Marche

Rome, July 3rd, 2024 - Angelini Foundation has signed a new memorandum of understanding with Azienda Ospedaliero Universitaria delle Marche, Regione Marche, Comune di Ancona and Università Politecnica delle Marche to manage the "Casale Angelini" care house.

The care house, inaugurated at the end of 2020, offers free accommodation to patients and their caregivers during extended treatment periods and in cases where they are far from their homes.

The renewed protocol confirms the collaboration with the "ARTIS odv" Association for the management of the residential facility. Thanks to the commitment of volunteer professionals - nurses, doctors and staff specialized in medical and home care - and a close network of collaborations, "Casale Angelini" offers qualified care and continuous support, in a modern, safe and welcoming environment. With the entry of the Università Politecnica delle Marche into the protocol, on-site health care is also offered by resident physicians from the Faculty of Medicine.

"Casale Angelini, responding concretely to a need expressed by the AOU of Marche, aims to meet the needs of patients requiring support near the Torrette Hospital in Ancona. This is how we envision care" says Gigi De Palo, Director of the Angelini Foundation. "It represents attention to individuals and the community, addressing not only the significant economic burden of being far from home for patients and their caregivers, but also becoming an expression of subsidiarity in the area, bringing together the Health Company, institutions, and associations. Additionally, the care house aims to foster social bonds in the community by involving various volunteers in hospitality, creating a more cohesive and supportive community."

The President of the Marche Region, Francesco Acquaroli, also expressed his satisfaction: "We are pleased to renew this protocol, convinced that the care house represents a concrete example of solidarity and support for the community. This valuable initiative allows patients to focus on their treatment journey and offers their caregivers the opportunity to stay close to their loved ones in a comfortable and serene environment. The presence of this facility underscores the importance of an integrated approach to healthcare, where attention to the psychological and emotional well-being of patients is considered as crucial as medical treatments."
